Wendy is awesome and a fighter! First, she took my case when others would not. She did what others didn't do: she listened to my story. She asked some tough questions, and it's critical to tell the whole story, even the not-so-good parts. She is honest, clear and direct, but also empathetic and caring. Some of her advice was tough to swallow, but I followed it and am so thankful I did. She is very thorough, knowledgeable, and experienced. Every time opposing counsel fired a shot, she aggressively shot back x10. She went head to head with a very experienced and accomplished attorney and backed him down. Every other attorney fed me false hope and were extremely unrealistic in regards to my upcoming hearing for custody. First off I would like to thank Ms.Wendy, Jamie and April for being very attentive and sensitive to my case. Ms.Wendy took my case at the last minute when things were looking down for me. My child custody case was extremely sensitive until the day of court. I had previous attorneys who couldn’t handle the opposing party due to the confusing, misleading overwhelming dragged out lies. Ms.Wendy came right in and gave me some of the greatest advice while waiting for my court date. I advised Ms.Wendy that the other party is very difficult to deal with and she ensured me that the other party wouldn’t be able to do anything to take her off of her game. Boy was she right, the day of court Ms.Chan took control of the room and exposed the other party. It was really bad, so bad the other party got out of character losing control and composure of themselves yelling at the judge and just screaming. Ms.Wendy is like the surgeon that you want to operate on a love one who have a small chance of survival. She took my case that I wasn’t doing good with and showed the judge exactly who and how this other party was by exposing them in court. All I can say is thank God and thank you Ms.Chan for giving me the opportunity to have custody of my children, by fully representing me, even down to the last second. I am forever greatful for this firm. My children will be home with me soon. If ever you really really really want your children this is the firm for you. Just a side note..... Let me start out by saying thank you to Ms. Chan and her entire staff, they made me feel so relaxed and confident throughout my entire divorce. I was going through what seemed to me to be the hardest, loneliest, darkest time of my life, I didn't know what to do or where to go and felt hopeless and lost. I called Chan.& assc. And from day one when I spoke directly to Ms Chan, the outlook i had on my divorce and life itself completely changed, I knew I was going to be ok and that Wendy and her staff were there to not only help get me through my divorce but help get my life back on track as well, and i was right!! I should have taken the time to read ALL of the reviews and their rebuttals prior to working with this group. The statements of disorganization, lack of communication and response are completely accurate. The aggressive nature I was looking for to represent me in the court room never got that far because of missed filing deadlines. While I rate this group a big fat zero for legal services, I am awarding Wendy and her team five stars for teaching me what a lawyer should not do for their client. Phone calls not returned, late arrivals for court dates, associates representing you in court that you never hear back from, and being told that I should have had witness reports and a pre-trial memorandum to the courthouse because it was in the order. Isn’t that the lawyers job? Do yourself a favor a find someone who will support you and understands your position as their client. Wendy you’ve outdone yourself by sending me my money back and telling me to go find someone who would be empathetic. We finally just found the end of a long, strenuous custody dispute that settled prior to trial with EXACTLY what I asked for in the beginning! When I first came to Wendy, I was an emotional wreck. As a father, I felt like the underdog but Wendy assured me I would get the fair shake I wanted. She was patient with me...VERY patient. I know that I wasn't the easiest client. My wife filed a false PFA against me and I was forced out of my own home. I could not contact my children and I was homeless, even though I have never missed a day of work. On 1/31/20 ( ONE DAY ) Wendy charged me $1,200 for 40 incoming and outgoing emails relating to my case. I spent $5,200 and was asked for another $7,500 more with very little being accomplished for my cause. Other attorneys were shocked to learn this. And I did better negotiating for myself without her. To no surprise, because Google trashed my uncanny name my Landlord spread rumors throughout the community that led to an unlawful self help eviction.
